About Stata
Stata is a versatile statistical software system which is easy to learn. It can perform basic statistical analysis and graphs, as well as advanced statistical computations. It has a point-and-click graphical user interface (GUI) as well as a command line interface which keeps an accurate and reproducible record of the analysis session.

UTHSC faculty, students, and staff can use Stata free of charge.
You will have to sign in using UTHSC credentials. Then pick whether you will be installing on a personal or university-owned machine. Finally, pick the operating system you will be installing onto. We have a video on the installation for Macs. The procedure for other operating systems (Windows, Linux) is similar. Make sure you read the download instructions (PDF) and note the license information.
