Consider the scores SUPP_Total_Family and SUPP_Total_Friends which measure perceived social support from family and friends respectively. We want to know if these scores differ between men and women, and whether there is a difference in the perceived support from family as compared to friends.

Is perceived support from family the same for men as women? Use an appropriate statistical test, and confidence interval to answer this question. Are the test and confidence interval consistent? Jusify your choice of test/procedure using figures, tables, or other information.

The is difference in perceived social support from family vs friends the same for men and women? Create a new variable that measures the difference in perceived support from family vs friends; then check if that measure is different between men and women. Use an appropriate statistical procedure and jusify your choices.
Is there a difference in the proportion of individuals living alone between those with COPD versus heart failure (HF)? Calculate the odds ratio and confidence interval to answer this question.
